It's been about five years since The Friendly Web was online, and I think it's time to return. (The side picture was our logo back around 1996 or so...)
This is just a fun place for me to share my life, and tell the story of the 1924 house I am restoring in Clifton, Texas.
It's also a place to tell the stories of The Furry Friends, all the little beast who have shared my life these past 20 years.
So, sit back, read and relax. There's not much here to stress you out!
And, yes, the site is under construction...not much done..but I'm in no hurry.
The Manse - May 15, 2006.
The house was a bit scary when we first bought it. It had structure problems, electrical problems, plumbing problems, window problems. I can't think of any problem it didn't have. But it did have charm and it was well built at one time. (It even had roof problems.) So, just like taking in another stray animal - I took in this poor house and started what I think is my life-long project. Home restoration. Money pit..indeed!

Believe it or not, we've come a LONG way baby! The house has been leveled, new electrical, new plumbing, 23 new windows, new front and back doors, a deck out back, new flooring, redesign of kitchen and bathroom - all rooms but two have been repainted. Plus, it had a outside paint job and a new roof. New fencing, new driveway....
Hmm...I guess I have done a lot.. Still...so much more to be done.. |
